Amy Kirkwood Coaching
How it works
The 1:1 coaching process
Your coaching journey is unique to you and the results can be transformative and life-changing.
You can kick-start your coaching journey through a few simple steps.
Step 1: Book a free 45-minute call
We'll talk about what you want to get out of coaching and how we can work together. This is a 'chemistry' call for us both to see if we are a good fit. There's no obligation to sign up for more coaching at this stage.
Step 2: Choose a coaching package
If you're interested in working with me, you'll choose a coaching package that works for you – this can be anything from a one-off deep dive to a package of 3, 6 or 12 sessions. I offer flexible packages based on your needs – you're in the driving seat. We'll then arrange our first full session together.
Step 3: Identify your goals
In our first session, we'll dive deeper into your goals and desired outcomes and why they're important to you. Your goals may change throughout our work together (and that's ok!); this goal-setting session provides a useful anchor point which we can return to throughout our sessions.
Step 4: Explore, experiment and create change
I'll champion you and support you to achieve your goals by providing thought-provoking exercises and useful tools to help you move forward. Expect shifts in perspective, 'aha' moments and a confidence boost as you create change in your career and life as a whole.

Amy made sure that the structure of the sessions worked for me, including a mix of discussion and powerful, thought-provoking activities. At the end of every session, I felt empowered and full of ideas. I now have a set of tools to help me navigate the next phase of my career and my self-confidence has started to grow. I underestimated how much the career coaching would help me question all aspects of my life – it’s been an invaluable experience and I would highly recommend Amy.

Not sure if coaching is for you?
Here you'll find answers to common questions about coaching and how we could work together.
What is coaching? Coaching supports you to fulfill your potential. It is a partnership between client and coach that prompts exploration and creates fresh thinking and different perspectives. There are lots of different types of coaching, from executive leadership coaching to wellness coaching, and 1:1 coaching, team and group coaching. I offer 1:1 coaching for people who feel stuck or unfulfilled in their job, would like to lead or perform better at work and/or create more meaning and fulfilment in their career. Coaching provides a way to gain insight into where and how you feel stuck and how to move forward.
Do I need to have a specific goal in mind before we start? No, you don't need a goal before we start. It's helpful to think about what you want to explore in our sessions and we can agree on goals together. These can also change during our sessions, depending on what you'd like to focus on.
Do I have to sign up for a block of sessions? Not necessarily. I offer blocks of 3, 6 and 12 coaching sessions to support clients to create change in their careers and lives which is long-term and sustainable. This is more effective than one-off sessions as it creates opportunities to explore the root cause of what might be holding you back, allows time to experiment with new habits and thought patterns, and encourages accountability. If you're not sure you need that many sessions, we can discuss this during our first call.
Where do the sessions take place? Sessions are held online via Google Meet. If you are in London and would like in-person sessions, we can discuss this during our first call.
How much does it cost? The first call is free, and after that prices vary depending on how many sessions you'd like and their duration. I offer discounted rates for a block of sessions. Contact me to find out more.
What if I can't afford it? I aim to make my coaching accessible to a broad range of clients and am happy to discuss pricing on an individual basis. There is a financial commitment required, as well as committing your time and energy to explore the areas of your life you wish to develop in.
How do I know whether I need coaching or therapy? Coaching covers a broad range of topics and involves developing your skills and capabilities, enhancing your performance at work and/or generating new understanding about yourself and your situation and how to move forward. Therapy and counselling tend to focus more on understanding behaviours, where they come from, how they impact you and how to create healthy behaviours. There are some distinct differences between coaching and counselling, but there can be overlap in topics as well. I'd recommend making contact and we can discuss what coaching is and what it isn't, to help clarify your next steps.
What happens after I've contacted you? I'll get in touch via email to arrange a free 45-minute call or, if you've already booked a call, with some questions to consider before we meet. In our call we'll talk about what you want to get out of coaching and how we can work together. If we are a good fit, we'll agree on terms and ways of working and arrange a first session.
